Frequently Asked Questions

In this page, I’ll try to answer some of the questions I frequently receive via email.

Who wrote all the content published here?

Everything published on this website was written by me and is based on past exams, homework assignments and notes from university classes I attended. I have lots of handwritten notes that I wanted to share online. Also, I think having an online presence is a neat idea and this was the perfect excuse to do it.

You copied an example/exercise from my book!

Although I’ve wrote everything by myself, I haven’t always kept track of where each piece of material originally came from; therefore, some content, such as practical problems or examples, may have been reproduced verbatim. If you come across something that you believe infringes your copyright and would like it removed, please feel free to contact me and I will replace it as soon as possible.

My favorite $AI_DETECTOR said that your content was AI-generated!

That’s probably a false positive caused by my unnatural and stiff way of writing in English. After all, this is not my mother tongue and sometimes I tend to write a bit awkwardly.

What areas of mathematics are you most experienced with?

I’m not experienced in any particular area, as I don’t have a postgraduate education in mathematics, so I really can’t dive into topics beyond the standard undergraduate and graduate curricula. I just happen to be able to explain this kind of stuff to others with modest results. This website is simply a way to extend my audience.

That said, my favorite areas of mathematics are real analysis, ODEs and operation research, particularly convex and combinatorial optimization, which is my area of specialization.

What happened to your open source projects?

I’ve stopped being a software developer around 2020 when I decided to focus my attention on other areas of mathematics/computer science (e.g., operation research). I considered returning to this field until ~2023, when I stopped caring about it altogether for obvious reasons.

My OSS projects quickly became unmaintained and so I decide to take most of them down. The few remaining libraries, tools and scripts are available on my GitHub profile where they will remain publicly available at least until there will be someone keep starring them.

I still have something to ask.

Then head over to the contact page. I try to answer to all e-mails I receive.
